What we do for our candidates

Unlike some recruitment consultancies, we don’t see our candidates merely as numbers to be pushed around for profit.

If we are to be the best at what we do, we need to be sure that our candidates are right for the roles we put them forward for, and that’s why when you join United Recruitment System we like to take time to get to know you.

We need to know what really makes you tick, what you are good at, what you are not so good at and what drives you. Trying to push a square peg into a round hole does not help anyone.

We will provide you with as much or as little help as you need to take the next step in your career.

Step 1:

Getting to know you

Whether you introduce yourself to us or we find you via one of the national job boards, the first thing we do is arrange a telephone or face-to-face interview so we can go through your resume and start to get to know you.

Step 2:

Making your CV shine

We will then work with you to ensure your CV shows off your skills and expertise and maximises your chances of getting to the interview stage.

This might involve focussing your CV to a particular opportunity, it might involve adding key information / statements that could improve your chances of success or it might simply be a case of ensuring it reads well.

Note, this is not about promoting you as something you are not as that doesn’t help anybody, it’s about creating a winning CV, that clearly highlights who you are and what you have to offer.

Step 3:

Preparing you for interview

We’ve submitted your CV and our clients has invited you to interview, but instead of patting you on the back and sending you on your way, we’re here to make sure you’re ready to sell yourself.

We understand that not everyone is a natural born salesman, indeed a lot of poeple struggle to ‘blow their own trumpet’, so we’ll help you prepare for the big day.

Giving you the confidence to express yourself, ensuring you know what you want to say, and are ready for any questions that the interviewer may throw at you… Well almost!

Step 4:

Supporting you post interview

Whether you are successful or not, we will carry out a review of the interview and how it went.

Indeed as we often assist our clients with the interview process we will be able to give first hand feedback of how you performed.

And even if you were successful in getting a job offer, we like to think there’s always something that can be learnt from the interview and taken to the next one (whenever that might be).

Step 5:

Preparing you for work

You’ve been offered the job, but now you have even more questions, maybe even a few concerns.

No need to stress, we’re here to answer any questions you may have, to waylay any fears, particularly if you feel awkward about asking your employer-to-be direct.

We’re here to make sure you hit the ground running on day one of your new role.

Step 6:

On-going support

Once you’ve started your new role, our job is essentially done, however we will maintain contact with you and your new employer.

We’ll touch base periodically, just to make sure everything is running to plan and help smooth out any bumps should they occur.
